The Candidate will be required to:
Demonstrate an understanding of the layout, function and operating principles of the vehicle air conditioning system. The candidate will also need to show a good level of knowledge and competency. In the operation of recovery, vacuum, recharging and flushing of vehicle air conditioning system procedures that are required for testing and servicing.
Demonstrate an understanding of the environmental implications, Health and Safety requirements for refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, adding oil, refrigerant charging and leak detection.
The Candidate will be able to understand:
Workplace procedures whilst handling refrigerants, personnel protection and vehicle protection when carrying mobile service/ rectification work.
Procedures for servicing and testing of vehicle air conditioning systems including refrigerant identification, initial system evaluation. Testing pressures and temperatures, air distribution and air speed with basic fault and diagnosis of vehicle air conditioning systems using the manifold gauges.
On completion of this module successful candidates will receive their certificate and qualification towards the Level 3 City & Guilds in Mobile Air Conditioning Systems.
